Art Journal - July 2022

My sketchbook, palette, and paints spent most of the month put away, tucked into a rolling cart full of other art supplies and hidden in the den while the focus instead has been on dealing with a heatwave that won't quit, as well as getting ready for having company stay with us.

I did get to go out on a yacht cruise at a work event, which was great, and as much as the heat has been uncomfortable, being able to work from my patio, enjoying the fresh air and the sun, has been a delight. I didn't get to paint as much as I wanted, but there's no sense feeling bad about it when it has been a great month otherwise.

Hopefully next month the paints come out a bit more, though 😉

Very nice. I'm really drawn to the pink flower on the second page. It's gorgeous.
You have a great aesthetic (I hate myself for using that word. barf.)

Also, fuck summer and this heat. I recently learned that Iceland has a really great temperature all year round. Summers average in the mid-50s (or 12-14C for you Canadians and your weird measurement systems). Can you imagine -- the hottest months of the year... sounds like heaven (I like it cold :). Even winters don't appear to get tooooo cold. I legit looked into their immigration policies (the US is collapsing into authoritarianism anyway. I need to plan my escape.)

Ok it's 5am. I need some sleep. Goodnight, friend. Keep up the good work :)
